Name:  Denise Ward Hometown: Hoyt Lakes, MN (near Ely on da' iron range) How many years have you been racing: 5 or 6, those first years "racing" would be massively overstating the situation. What got you into cycling: Looking for an alternative lifestyle to the one I was leading, riding motorcycles, hanging out on lake minnetonka, and partying all the time was going to lead to an early death. Riding bikes lead to mountain biking lead gravel events lead to racing. Favorite bicycle ever made: My 1975 Peugeot steel frame road commuter, I'm not a retro-phile typicaly but that bike is soooo smooth. And the new carbon frames coming out - mmmmmmmmm so responsive, so nice my head just exploded thinking about it. What do you do in the off season: Eat. Bonk buster: Homemade rice and egg concoction, dried cranberries, Gu What would your super power be: I'd wish it to be the ability to start things on fire with lasers coming out of the palms of my hands. Fill in the blank, "If you really knew me, you'd know _______":  I'm a homebody that craves road trips and traveling as much as possible. Anything you want to tell the world: Have compassion. Also, I've been playing with the idea that "there is no other," we are all the same person in a different form in a time warp that is folded onto itself so it's all happening at the same time, it seems like they are someone else, but it's actually you in a different capacity. It reminds me appreciate the people around me, who are actually me.

Name: Kyle Davis Hometown: Grew up in Champlin, MN now live in St. Louis Park. How many years have you been racing: I started doing gravel races around 5 years ago. What got you into cycling: I've loved riding since I learned to ride as a kid. While I took a few years off as a young adult, I ended up living in the mountains of Colorado. I knew I had to get a mountain bike! Fast forward a few years I ended up back in Minneapolis after a deployment to Afghanistan with sever PTSD. Riding became the only way to clear my head. It became clear that bikes and riding were something I needed often in my life. That's when Joel was kind enough to give me a job at The Alt and the rest is history. Favorite bicycle ever made: I'll find it someday. What do you do in the off season: I commute year round and absolutely love riding in the winter. I've always thought of it as good gravel training. Keeps you looking for that good line. When not riding or building bikes for work. I keep busy with my husky Slate and working on renovating our house. It's never ending... Bonk buster: Whiskey What would your super power be: The ability to instantly cure sore muscles. Fill in the blank, "If you really knew me, you'd know I"m happiest in the wilderness" Anything you want to tell the world: Can't we all just get along?
